Answers to common questions

We’ve compiled a list of answers to common questions.

What is available for lunch and dinner?

Wheelwright Arms pub in Erwood

We highly recommend the local pub, the Wheelwright Arms, for great service, fantastic food and a really friendly local crowd who will always welcome new visitors.

The pub is a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk away. We often walk but it’s not for the faint-hearted as there is no pavement for much of the way. Therefore we are happy to offer a free drop-off to the Wheelwrights and can arrange for either ourselves or one of the pub staff to bring you back later in the evening… if the latter then a little petrol money to the staff would always be appreciated.

Do you have rooms free on such and such a date?

Our online availability checker is updated in real time and always has the most up to date room information. We are only open for Bed & Breakfast during a select few weeks of the year.

What is the parking situation?

Parking is free. We have two specific parking areas alongside the driveway for up to eight cars and plenty of space in the courtyard in front of the house if needed.

How far from the Royal Welsh Show?

We are just 6 miles from the Royal Welsh Showground main public “South 1” car park. The journey is via a single road, the A470, and typically takes just 8 minutes.

How far from the Hay Festival?

We are just under 12 miles away from the Hay Festival. The journey is a straightforward route, well signposted once you get near Hay on Wye and typically takes just 17 minutes.
